Date Shake
- ask for, “Can I please have the vegan coconut bliss soft serve instead of the vanilla soft serve”
Important to clarify you are vegan!
Also important to specify what you would like!
You can also change out the vegan coconut bliss soft serve for the vegan organic frozen coconut base. FYI: these are both ice cream!!! The organic frozen coconut base is slightly less sweet than the soft serve!
The vegan froyo is upsettingly expensive. Active Culture does the froyo by weight and it. is. pricey.
There is a hack ~ Active Culture has a 32oz froyo container for a $10 flat rate with no toppings. I heavily suggest purchasing this 32oz container, filling with one or two flavors, and sharing with a friend or take home to your freezer.
Trust me when I say the small, build your own froyo will make you cry once you get to the register. If you are willing to pay the price then go ahead, however, if you are on a budget or you are craving some good vegan froyos then stick with 32oz.
Honestly, sometimes I buy my own toppings and create little vegan froyo cups for days at my own home with the 32oz.
Few Factors that make this place worth it!
- Unique Vegan Shakes and Froyo Flavors
- Do not compromise on ingredients or flavor
- Interesting Flavors that are hard to find elsewhere
Important Notes
- Active Culture is expensive, this is more of a splurge dessert
- The sizing is quite large, come ready to consume

Plant-Based Vietnamese Refreshments

Name: Ma Juicy
Link: Ma Juicy Online Order
Price: $10-15
Location: Westminister
Dessert: pennywort juices and other drinks
Pennywort, also known as Centella Asiatica or Gotu Kola is blended to create a green, nutrient-rich liquid. Think of green juice but it is VERY light in veggie flavor.
Pennywort juice is widely consumed in Southeast Asia, India, and China as a tonic, health drink, or herbal remedy.
Ma Juicy, creates sweet versions of pennywort juice (not too sweet tho) to make it a more enjoyable, dessert like experience.
Great First Time Options are
- Ube Taro Coconut Pennywort
- Sugarcane pennywort juice
- If you fear the pennywort, get the Brown Sugar Boba Soymilk Tofu, it’s phenomenal.
What makes this place special?
- pennywort juice is hard to find in the united states. This place is doing it pretty well if I say so myself
- It is all plant based except one drink that has condensed milk (it is clearly labeled on the menu)
- They even have tofu dessert bowls and refreshers.
Important Notes
- It is a bit overwhelming the first-time ordering at Ma Juicy as everything in person is in Vietnamese. I would suggest placing an online order!
- Lowkey, add the Moon Ball to anything it is so freaking yummy.
